I said we were spoiled with new Beauty Breakdowns at MM this week, and I wasn’t kidding. Here’s my favourite new actress, the fabulous Jennifer Lawrence in Cannes at the premiere of the new Hunger Games film, Catching Fire. How gorgeous is this lipstick colour?

Jennifer’s hair was by LA/NY hair supremo Mark Townsend (who he works with regularly).

It’s an exciting week at MM HQ – it’s all the red carpet excitement of Cannes! Amazing international makeup artist Kay Montano has been in Cannes all week, looking after her regular clients, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Lawrence. And in my hot sticky paws today, I have breakdowns.

My favourite look that Nicole has worn this week has been this one at the Opening Ceremony:

So I have a total girl crush on American actress Jennifer Lawrence – how beautiful does she look here? My favourite makeup artist, Kay Montano and awesome London hairdresser, Johnnie Sapong, was Jennifer’s glam squad at the BAFTAS this week.

Salma Hayek Red CarpetLast week was the British Fashion Awards in London (held at the beautifully refurbished Savoy Hotel), and actress Salma Hayek was presenting an award to Stella McCartney, who won Fashion Designer of the Year. Her go-to red carpet makeup artist is Kay Montano, who sent me the following breakdown of what she used. I love Salma in that hot pink lip!

This is a beautiful new short film by London photographer Chris Floyd and makeup is by my favourite makeup artist (and mentor!) Kay Montano. It’s a lovely homage to Marilyn Monroe and it showcases Eyeko’s beautiful eye products (I can attest to the fact that their liquid eyeliner pen is one of the very best I have ever tried.)

Love this trends video by Kay Montano which basically gives you a heads up on what you’ll be wanting to wear on your face for next season.

And just FYI, I’m off on holidays tomorrow (only for a week) so regular MM service will resume when I’m back. I now force myself to take a total break from the internet when I’m away and even though the first couple of days are like going cold turkey off drugs, I find it really refreshes me. You all have permission to shout at me on Twitter and Facebook if I cave in! See you in a week…

Every year Chanel do incredible events for Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out, around the world. Here’s a lovely video from London a couple of years ago, with two of my favourite people, makeup artist Kay Montano and lovely British supermodel, Daisy Lowe, getting into the spirit of the evening:

Salma Hayek Lucky Magazine

Makeup by Kay Montano | Photographer – Patrick Demarchalier

 I love the cover of the latest Lucky magazine, and makeup artist Kay Montano was chatting to me recently about what products she used on gorgeous actress Salma Hayek. The pictures were shot in Versailles (no less!) by top fashion photographer Patrick Demarchalier. Kay said it was a fantastic shoot as she has worked with both Patrick and Salma for many years – and, well Versailles, you can’t go wrong really.

During the shoot Salma showed Kay some of the products from her new beauty line in the US, Nuance, which Kay says are amazing. She used the Nuance blush in Apricot on Salma as it’s her favourite colour. These are available at CVS in the States.
