Chanel Haute Couture video

Author: The Makeup MoleI found this lovely video of Chanel makeup maestro Peter Phillips backstage at the recent Chanel Haute Couture show, explaining his inspiration for the show – which is Courtney Love meets Haute Couture (trust Peter Phillips to bust out a combo like that and make it look so right, and perfectly chic).
Hair is by none other than Sam McKnight, one of my very favourite hairdressers, and the clothes – well, let’s just say that haute couture ain’t dead yet.
Oh, and that perfect red lip? It’s Chanel Precision Lip Definer in Carmin and Rouge Coco lipstick in Rivoli.
Since I’m already on the topic of all things Chanel – and regular readers will know it’s a topic I revisit often, as I love, love, love this brand – currently on counter in Asia are none other than the super deluxe eyelash curlers that I blogged about a while ago. And the other thing that is shortly winging it’s way into my makeup kit? The new cream eyeshadow duos which are absolutely gorgeous. The texture is amazing, and I’ll be starting with Gris-Subtil, the deep slate grey and shimmering silver, and then working on adding some more. You know, a girl has to have projects.

Are the Chanel curlers any good? I’ve spotted them on ebay. I’ve had my beloved Shu Uemuras for nearly a decade and should really replace them (instead of buying yet another lipstick)x
I haven’t tried the Chanel ones yet, but I just think they are super chic! The Shu Uemuras are still a standard for me, both for work and personal use – you really can’t go wrong. And do be wary of Ebay, as you can get some great bargains but equally there are tons of fakes on there.

Do you have any idea if/when the Chanel eyelash curler will be available in Europe?
Also, I have quite thick and naturally curled lashes already and I have never ever used an eyelash curler :O ! Can you recommend one for kind of almond shaped, slightly deep-set eyes?

I’m pretty sure that the curlers are just an Asia exclusive, but I will double-check with Chanel and let you know whether that has changed or not. If you already have gorgeous curly lashes you may not need an eyelash curler – you lucky thing you! Curling my eyelashes changes my whole face. I would recommend the Shu Uemura eyelash curlers if your eyes are almond and deep-set, they were created for the Asian market so designed for almond shaped eyes.

Yes, browbone grazing lashes might be a little excessive! In that case, save the money on the eyelash curler and spend it on a kick-ass lippie or mascara. It sounds like you have plenty of natural eyelash curl going on already.
